Work sux.

I suppose it is true that I am slack assing on the "Rules for work" thing. And my rebuttal to that charge is that I have totally given up on most humans as their working selves (don't infer that to assume I am fine with humanity otherwise... let the record show I lean more toward misanthropic than humanitarian). Generally, I've nothing to report that you can't figure out for yourselves from your own experience: we get petty and small minded when our territory is threatened, people who work their asses off don't get acknowledged for it (refering not just to myself but to a select few, including my current supervisor), and when big changes are on the horizon management will do all it can to hide the obvious. Not much has changed in the three years that I was out of the workforce proper.
What I think this all boils down to is lack of leadership. For instance, one of the upper managers of something blah blah executive tell me the title and it means nothing to me has a photo of THIS GUY next to his computer:

Is that for serious? I have to conclude yes, as the poster seems not to me the sort who gets irony, let alone enjoys it. And we work in a health related organization. I've been stretching my brain for what offensive moron I can post in my cubicle, but don't think any of my choices capture quite the same level of transgression of judgement. Suggestions?

Maybe the guy is related to Uncle Mikey? You could place a photo of the Health Minister (Clement?) in a nice, sparkly frame beside your desk? After all, he is also a loser in the health world (remember the AIDS conference) and he once ran in your Parkdale riding for municipal politics.

Hey -s epaking of which - what happened to Wookie?

Ohhh, that is not bad.... in a pink sparkly frame.
Wookie - crash and burn. Lost by something like a five to one ratio. I guess he will just have to go back to following all his other whimsies.

I'm thinking Ben Mulroney, perhaps in an affectionate pose with Papa, might be what you're looking for!

But the idea of putting up a picture of Mike Harris (especially that picture) in your cubicle is brilliant! Working in a cubicle in a Conservation Authority, which was gutted during Mike's reign of terror, I can't resist not putting up one of my own....now all I need is a sparkly frame!
